Global environmental issues all seem to have a common thread stemming from our industrialized world. What affects one country also tends to have a flow-on effect to neighboring lands and even around the whole world.

For example think of a country that emits pollution from it's factories into it's rivers, oceans or air. That pollution will be spread by not only water and air currents circulating on a larger scale but also through the wildlife (insects / animals) which may be moving through that area. Fish may be poisoned directly or through the things they eat. So we can see how pollution from one country can easily spread through the eco system to poison people living in other lands by their consumption of contaminated marine life.

The eco system of the entire world is interrelated so pollution in any part of the world should be of concern to all of us.
