The Great Australian Bight is pristine and abundant with marine life
The Great Australian Bight off the southern coast of Australia is under threat from several oil and gas companies seeking to exploit it's resources by deep sea drilling. The bight is known for it's remote, rough, pristine, clean, untouched and diverse marine life.
Travelers whom travel across the Nullarbor Plain between the West coast and East coast of Australia can view the magnificent cliffs and ocean from some sections of the main highway.
EcoMarlee is aware of the following organizations striving to stop oil and gas companies from mining in the region;
The Wilderness Society https://fightforthebight.wilderness.org.au/share
The Bight Alliance http://www.fightforthebight.org.au/
